Can I get a whooooooohoo!
Why? ‘Cause my summer holiday has officially started!
I’ve handed in my thesis and completed all my assignments for this academic year. Now it’s time to enjoy my holiday! (regardless of the anxiety for my grade in the back of my head. ANYWAY!)
Since I moved to the Netherlands, every summer I’d go back home to my parents on Aruba or visit family in India. This is the first time I’m not going back. Instead, I thought I’d do a little Interrail trip!
For those who aren’t familiar with Interrail, it’s basically a “hop on/hop off” the train ticket for a number of days. Depending on the ticket you choose, you can hop on/hop off in different countries. I chose the global pass, which gives me the option of choosing from 30 countries in Europe! The ticket is valid for 15 days and I’m allowed to get on and off the train 5 times in the span of those 15 days.
In other words, I’m going backpacking in Europe for 2 weeks!
That means that I’ve got to pack lighter than I usually do – although what is light packing anyway? I struggle with “light” packing more than I’m willing to admit…
I tried my best this time, although I’m sure many wouldn’t agree that I’m packing light.
In this post, I wanted to share all the products I’ll be taking with my on my trip. This includes skincare, makeup, body products.
Here’s everything in my little skincare, body and hair pouch.
A while back I bought this little travel-sized bag from Yves Rocher that included about 3 products, 2 of which are pictured. It included a mini miscellair water, face gel, and face mask. At the time I thought it was just cute. It came with a purchase and I thought why not and paid the 4 euros and didn’t think much of it.
Now, however, I’m so glad I got it! If only just for the miscellair water (first from left)! I’ve also added some cotton to the bag, since I will need to that to be able to use the miscellair water properly..
I also have a mini coconut milk for in the shower – yes for extra moisture for the skin! Then there’s the eye gel, which I’m looking forward to trying out, some shampoo, and deo! I also picked up a BB cream from The Body Shop, which was half off, so definitely a bargain!
The last little tube is a sample perfume from Lancome. It smells heavenly and fits everywhere!
You never know when samples will come in handy!
Moving on to makeup… this was the hardest, I’ve got to admit!
I always think I’m going to need everything and anything, whereas, in the end, I end up using almost no makeup…
Here I made sure I had everything I’d probably need, without anything “extra” like an eyeshadow palette, which I’m sure I’m not going to use, or foundation that I definitely won’t use.
As for eyeshadows, I’m taking two singles – one by Revlon and the other by MAC.
(Pictured from left to right):
MAC Twig satin finish lipstick
MAC D for Danger matte lipstick
NYX Abu Dhabi matte lip cream
MAC Studio Fix compact power
MAC All that glitters eye-shadow
Mannakadar Bronzer Highlighter
Revlon Melon eyeshadow
Nyx Amber Blush
Revlon Peach Glow highlighting palette
Nyx HD Studio Photogenic Concealer
Kiko milano smart lip pencil 704
Ace of Face Eyerule no.3 Volumizing mascara
MAC definedly black eye liner
Chella eyebrow defining gel
The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Adoring lipstic liquid lipstick
With these products, I can probably do a full face if I wanted to, without too many products and any heavy products on my face. I expect it to be hot and when it’s hot no one really wants so much stuff on their face.
Some of these products, especially the Revlon Peach Glow highlighting palette is so versatile! It can potentially be used as a blush, bronzer, and eyeshadow! It’s also really pigmented and creamy. Absolute bargain, if you ask me! Same goes for the Mannakadar Bronzer and highlighter – 2-in-1. This is supposed to be a 2-in-1, but I think it’s more like a 3-in-1, this can also be used as an eyeshadow! The bronzer shade goes in the crease and the highlighting shade goes in the corner of your eye/the lid, and ta-da! You’ve got yourself a nice eyelook!
I’ve been stuck to my Revlon single eyeshadow lately, so I figured I wouldn’t be able to leave without it. Besides, it’s so tiny anyway!
This makeup bag isn’t final yet, so there is a chance things may change, although it’ll probably stay roughly the same.
This is obviously not including the brushes, but I don’t plan on taking more than 5. I’ve got some travel-sized blending brushes and blush brushes, so it’s all good!
What do you usually take on a trip you should be packing lightly for?
Until next time,
Happy travels!
