Hi everyone!
We’re five month into 2017 already and I’m having trouble getting everything to stop spinning and time to stop running. I’m almost done with my Masters already (only 2 months to go!) and all I’m doing right now is working on my thesis project.
It’s insane how time flies. My brain still cannot fathom this concept we call time.. Gone are the days we were young and innocent and when time seemed to go on forever. I couldn’t wait to grow up. Well, here I am…
Okay cue out cliche thoughts on the mundane concept of time and cue in this month’s favourites!
I don’t do these posts very often, but once in a while I get a couple of products that I’ve genuinely been loving AND manage to write about them (relatively) on time. Also, I don’t make purchases often since I’m a poor and perpetually broke student trying to save up for summer holidays. So writing up a post like this isn’t always interesting as my favourites tend to stay as they are for months until I’ve used them up.
After having taken the pictures I realised I probably missed some things, like the show I’ve been obsessed with (The Originials – so good, holy crap) or my new NYX lipstick I’ve been wearing a lot lately (but that’s for another post, so no worries)
Some of the products in this post are quite old, actually. This includes the Sleek palette you see here, and the single eye-shadow by Revlon.
I’ve been loving a simple peachy look lately, hence the single eye-shadow and the neutral colours of this palette.
I really feel like these Sleek palettes are quite underestimated and underrated. The shadows are so pigmented and creamy! And not to mention such beautiful shades… I’ve got two Sleek palettes but this one is by far my favourite.
You can never go wrong with earthy tones, can you?
The single eye-shadow by Revlon is too old to be on my skin, to be honest. But I love this colour so much! It’s got a slight rose gold sparkle to it as well. I tend to combine this shade with the second shade from the left from the Sleek palette in the bottom picture. It’s a matte light salmon colour.
The Camomile Cleansing Butter by The Body Shop
has got me thinking about makeup removing is a whole new way. I absolutely love this stuff. And I mean love-what-am-i-going-to-do-without-it. It’s so easy to remove makeup with this stuff and it feels like I’m feeding my skin while I’m doing it. I only need this and, boom, I’m done.
I look like a monster while it’s on my skin but once the warm water washes it off it’s like my skin has never been touched by makeup. I LOVE THIS STUFF. And I got it for 7 euros (it was on sale, yeah #brokestudentstruggles)
The Guava Butter by Seraphine Botanicals smells wonderful like no other! I swear this brand knows how to lure their customers with amazing scents.
This stick is a cheek and lip stain. I haven’t used it on my cheek but I do use this on my lips. It’s super soft and moisturising. It’s got a nice pink/coral tint to it and IT SMELLS AMAZING. I actually got this in one of the StyleTone boxes, so thank you Styletone!
More on skincare…
Another one from The Body Shop.. man I’ve got to say, I’ve really been loving The Body Shop lately. They have amazing deals that I just can’t resist! It’s good for you skin, smells great and it’s cruelty free! What more could you ask for?
This is the 3-in-1 face wash, face scrub, and face mask. I’ve been using this mainly as a face wash/scrub – although I’m not so sure what the difference is between the two because it always feels like a scrub because of the beads. I’ve used it as a mask, but I don’t love it as much that way. Scrub is the way to go with this one..
The smell of tea tree is an instant relaxer for me. It makes me feel calm and cool. I also feel like it’s doing good stuff for my skin albeit making it slightly dry once I’m done. Tea tree is, however, known to be quite potent and drying.
So cue in the calming aromatic toner water by Lush!
This toner water is the current love of my life. It smells of lavender and has been the cause of the lack of pimples on my face, I believe. For the price of 6.45 euros, I say this product is totally worth it! I use it twice a day, after washing my face and before applying my moisturizer. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
That rounds up my loves of April…Oh how April flew by in a blink of an eye. With all the deadlines and exams, I barely even noticed..
We had Easter, King’s day and the “May” break (this year it was technically in April) last month and I barely noticed! Shame on me.
As for this month…
I’ve made a habit tracker for the month of May.. with the whole bullet journal trend, I decided I’d try it out. Not bullet journal-ing but the habit tracker since I think it’s a brilliant idea. Let’s see if I can keep up!
So what about you? What products have you been loving? Did you write a post on the things you’ve loved in the month of April? Comment your links below! I’d love to see! Have you tried any of the products I mentioned in this post? Let me know!
Side note, I’ve been working on changing the look of my blog.. the time has come.. let’s see how it goes! I’ve been having a little trouble choosing something I really like with the free version of WordPress… any advice or tips?
Until next time…
Are we already following each other on social media?
Send me a tweet, DM, pin or a book recommendation! I’d love to get to know you!
I would love to try out the Lush lavender toner water . Sounds pretty good 🙂 ! I have tried the one with tea tree oil – it leaves the face feeling clean and refreshed 🙂 .

Oh and I want to try the one with tea tree oil! I love the face scrub so much, I’ll probably love the toner mist as well (even though it’s from another brand!) Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

I hella love sleek cosmetics! They’re so pigmented also! And the price. But sometimes they do chalk up. Too bad they don’t sell in the states, shipping is crazy lol

That’s true! That’s mainly with the matte shades. I feel like the more shimmery shades are much better. It also depends on the palette, I think. The original palette does chalk up, imo. Haha I know that struggle! There are so many brands that aren’t available here: too faced, tarte, makeup geek.. etc. I’d love to get my hands on those without the ridiculous fees!

I am currently loving the Lush toner water as well! I have the “breath of fresh air” which is made with aloe vera, rose and herbs. I featured it in my favorites post from a few months ago!

Ohh I almost went for that one! But I obviously ended up with this one.. it was a tough choice! Do you feel like it has made a difference in your skin?

It definitely makes my skin feel hydrated and refreshed when I use it, and the next day my skin usually feels really soft! As far as lasting effects though, I haven’t really noticed any long term changes in my skin.

Same!! I love using it because it smells and feels so good, but I’m not sure I see any long term effects.. although I do feel like my skin isn’t as dry. So I guess it’s working? (Again, so sorry for such a late reply!)
